Darren Earl: Lessons Learned on the Family Farm

Fourth generation beekeeper. Lee County Native. Most amazing husband and father. Loves the Lord. Never met a stranger. The beard is A legend.

“Following in my great grandfather's footsteps has been incredibly fulfilling. I wish for my daughters to have the same happiness I had growing up on the Farm.”

Darren spent his summers on the family farm, working side by side with his grandfather. From fixing fences and repairing irrigation lines to finding new uses for old tools, he learned early on that hard work, resourcefulness, and determination go a long way.

His grandfather taught him that if something was broken, you fixed it. If something could be repaired instead of replaced, you took the time to do it. Those lessons not only helped the farm thrive, but also shaped Darren's respect for the land and the value of caring for what you've been given.

Long days in the Texas sun taught him the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and taking pride in an honest day's work. More importantly, they taught him that the best lessons are often learned through experience.

Today, Darren carries those values into everything he does. Whether caring for the land, raising quality food, or serving the community, he remains committed to the principles his grandfather lived by: work hard, be resourceful, and leave things better than you found them.

Meagan Joy

The simple, unhurried childhood Meagan Joy enjoyed continues to shape her today, inspiring her to cultivate that same way of life for her family and community.

Third Generation Beekeeper. Was her daddy’s “right-hand” cowgirl on the ranch. Texas Aggie #Whoop. Sourdough. Books. Grows Cut flowers for gifting. Salsa Garden in the summer. Picture is worth a thousand words. Loves Jesus.

“This farm has brought our family and community together in ways that words can't describe. It has given us so much joy and I want to share this beautiful creation with our loved ones.”

Growing up, some of Meagan's favorite memories were spent riding alongside her dad as he worked cattle. She'd help open gates, check cows, and whenever she got the chance, hop on her horse, Jack, and ride bareback across the pasture.

When Meagan thinks about those days, she remembers crinkly bags of sunflower seeds, ice-cold Big Reds, and the smell of dirt and worn leather coming from her dad's boots after a long day outside.

Life felt simpler then. She'd sit beneath a big oak tree, watching cattle graze and birds come and go from their nests. Those quiet moments taught her something she still carries today—the value of slowing down and noticing the beauty in everyday life.

She also remembers her grandfather and his bees. He wasn't a trained beekeeper, and he didn't have fancy equipment. Most days, he walked out to the hives with little more than a matchbox and years of learning through experience. He paid attention, adapted, and trusted what the bees could teach him. It was a way of life built on using what you had, working with your hands, and finding contentment in the simple things.

In today's fast-paced world, that kind of living can feel almost forgotten.

At the heart of everything Meagan does is a desire to bring a little of that slower, simpler way of life back to her family and community. She believes in gathering around the table, spending time outdoors, creating with your hands, and making space for meaningful connections.

Through her work, Meagan hopes to encourage others to slow down, appreciate the gifts found in nature, and find joy in the small moments that often matter most.

“ We love our LEECO HONEY! The farm was so easy to order from and THEY went above and beyond to let us pick up honey in time for Thanksgiving. My kids loved it and had to have it everyday until it was gone. “
